FRENCH LANGUAGE SERVICES ACT |
| 1 (1) La définition de «Commission de régie interne» à l’article 1 de la Loi sur les services en français est abrogée. |
1 (1) The definition of “Board of Internal Economy” in section 1 of the French Language Services Act is repealed. |
| (2) La définition de «commissaire» à l’article 1 de la Loi est abrogée et remplacée par ce qui suit : |
(2) The definition of “Commissioner” in section 1 of the Act is repealed and the following substituted: |
| «commissaire» Le commissaire aux services en français visé à l’article 12.1 dans sa version antérieure au jour de l’entrée en vigueur de l’article 2 de l’annexe 20 de la Loi de 2018 visant à rétablir la confiance, la transparence et la responsabilité. («Commissioner») |
“Commissioner” means the French Language Services Commissioner described in section 12.1 as it read immediately before the day section 2 of Schedule 20 to the Restoring Trust, Transparency and Accountability Act, 2018 comes into force; (“commissaire”) |
| (3) L’article 1 de la Loi est modifié par adjonction de la définition suivante : |
(3) Section 1 of the Act is amended by adding the following definition: |
| «ombudsman» L’ombudsman nommé en application de la Loi sur l’ombudsman. («Ombudsman») |
“Ombudsman” means the Ombudsman appointed under the Ombudsman Act; (“ombudsman”) |
| 2 L’intertitre qui précède l’article 12.1 et les articles 12.1 à 12.1.6 de la Loi sont abrogés et remplacés par ce qui suit : |

| 12.1 (1) L’ombudsman peut exercer les pouvoirs et doit exercer les fonctions que lui attribue la présente loi. |
12.1 (1) The Ombudsman may exercise the powers and shall perform the duties and functions assigned to him or her under this Act. |

| (2) Chacun des pouvoirs que possède l’ombudsman pour exercer les fonctions et assumer les responsabilités que lui attribue la Loi sur l’ombudsman et chacune des obligations de se conformer aux exigences liées à l’exercice d’un tel pouvoir, constituent également des pouvoirs et des obligations que la présente loi lui attribue, sous réserve des adaptations nécessaires. |
(2) Every power possessed by the Ombudsman in carrying out his or her functions and responsibilities under the Ombudsman Act, and every duty to comply with the exercise of such a power, is also a power and duty under this Act, subject to any necessary modification. |
